We are currently looking for a qualified and high performing General Manager to join our team.
The General Manager is responsible for: management's effectiveness; selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining managers, and staff; communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing a climate for offering information and opinions; providing educational opportunities.
The primary focus of this position is to oversee and manage the operations ensuring cohesion amongst all departments and ensuring customers requirements are met. Promote teamwork, open lines of communication and a positive atmosphere for employees. Utilize the strength of Continental/Madison service, product network to further growth for the company. Provide strong leadership and guidance. Play an active role in relationships between the Customers and Continental.

What you will be doing:
- Ensures the company employees work in a safe manner, have proper training, and follow company policies.
- Oversee and manage the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) for the business unit.
- Promote a professional image of the company and be a strong support for employees and customers.
- Ability and willingness to change interaction style in the post-pandemic work environment. Specifically in these areas; Cadence, Ownership, Objective and Orientation
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPI’s) to track and drive visible operational performance.
- The ability to get things done through and with your team members.
- Business Growth Top and Bottom line in conjunction with a Marketing/Sales plan complete with metrics to measure and drive results
- Drives sales performance to achieve and exceed annual sales and margin projections.
- Be precise in the expectations you are setting for others.
- Support operational performance to maximize efficiency, productivity, and sales revenues.
- Effectively organize joint work-related efforts between each department, maximize the efficiency of employees and equipment between departments, branches and group companies while promoting teamwork to fulfill the requirements of our present and future customers.
- Direct and coordinate activities of business concerned with production, pricing, sales, and/or distribution of products.
- Oversee monitoring of businesses and agencies to ensure that they efficiently and effectively provide needed services while staying within budgetary limits.
- Ability to manage talent while managing across functions, negotiating, persuading, and growing leadership inside the group.
- Direct and coordinate organization's financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency.
- Oversee building operations.
- Organize regular management meetings; develop strategies and policies to achieve company’s future goals.
- Organize Management Team to develop annual operating budget as well as all project budgets and oversee them.
- Understand all the major business functions and how they work together strategically, at the organization-wide level.
- Composes correspondence and press releases if required and administers all paperwork related to the management function.
- Support leadership team in formulating policies and projects and making policies and recommendations.
- Ensure Maintenance of quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards (ISO Quality Management System).
- Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
- Determine staffing requirements, and interview, hire and train new employees, or oversee those personnel processes.
- Determine goods and services to be sold, and set prices and credit terms, based on forecasts of customer demand.
- Provide, identify, and prioritize capital expenditures, based on return on investment.
- Perform review of financial statements monthly.
- Maintains a positive relationship with industry colleagues to stay an industry leader of current trends and conditions and adjusts strategies accordingly.
- Take part in reviewing insurance, banking, auditing, Employee issues, contract negotiations, and other board related aspects of the company.
- Establish plans, budgets, and results measurements; allocating resources; reviewing progress; making mid-course corrections.
- Oversee development and implementation of product marketing strategies including advertising campaigns and sales promotions.
- Actively maintain customer relations, including, but not limited to attending customer meetings, negotiating contracts, providing presentations, engaging in proposals, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Other duties, as required.

What we need from you:
- Bachelor’s degree in management, Business Administration, Operations or equivalent
- 10+ years of management experience
- Strong business acumen and relationship building skills.
- Knowing the difference between a Leader and a Manager
- Quality program experience, such as ISO, CSA, UL considered an asset
- Maintains the highest safety standards.
- Experience in budget development and oversight.
- Experience managing a team of professionals.
- Ability to steer a conversation and engage an audience.
- Strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Able to work in a dynamic work environment.
- Excellent time management skills with a strong diligence
- Professional collaborator with excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- A positive, “can-do” attitude and client-driven approach
- Upgrading, training in related disciplines such as safety, quality, leadership skills, technical ability
- Functioning knowledge of Six Sigma, DMAIC methodology
- Proficient computer experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office
- Industrial Service Business to Business background considered an asset.
- Ability to travel required.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
