Continental is seeking an Outside Sales Representative responsible for executing a full range of sales duties within the sales cycle, throughout Western Canada for our location in Edmonton. The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for new customer development by identifying opportunities through the CRM, a range of BD tools and strategies. The position works closely with other departments to support new and existing opportunities.
What you will be doing:
Business Development: Proactively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, online tools, attending industry functions, and researching leads, including seminars and tradeshows. This person needs to be an outside the box thinker.
Sales Execution: Actively sell our products and services through tailored presentations, respond promptly to customer inquiries, and deliver quotes and materials in a professional and timely manner.
Customer Relationship Building: Cultivate and manage exceptional relationships with customers through regular follow-ups, ensuring their needs are met and uncovering new opportunities to grow business.
Market Research: Perform market research to understand industry trends, competitive landscapes, and new business opportunities.
Reporting and CRM Management: Track all sales activities using a CRM system, periodically report customer interactions, and manage customer account information effectively.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering and production, to ensure a smooth project flow and customer satisfaction.
Travel: Frequent travel is required to meet with customers, attend industry events, and promote Continental's services.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience with a proven track record, particularly in the industrial or electrical motor services sector.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities, with a demonstrated understanding of sales concepts.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels from electricians to VPs.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license is required.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team, with minimal supervision.
- A strong problem solver with the drive to take on new challenges and succeed.
