We are currently looking for a qualified Health, Safety & Quality Coordinator to join our team of professionals.
What you will be doing:
The Health, Safety & Quality Coordinator plays a key role in supporting and strengthening the safety culture across our Calgary Service Center. This role coordinates health, safety, environmental and quality initiatives in alignment with Alberta Occupational Health & Safety legislation, company policies, Certificate of Recognition (COR) requirements and ISO quality standards. The coordinator promotes trust, collaboration, and open communication to advance our HSE programs and continuously improve our quality.
This role partners closely with site leadership, technicians, and corporate HSE and Quality leadership to ensure safe practices, risk mitigation, and adherence to Continental’s quality and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environmental Leadership
- Serve as the primary HSE point of contact within the service center
- Lead and support implementation of HSE programs, safety systems, and continuous improvement practices
- Conduct regular safety walkthroughs, audits, behavior-based safety (BBS) observations, and field hazard identification
- Support and participate in HSE Steering Committees and employee engagement programs
COR certification and Incident Management
- Facilitate and support incident reporting, investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Support the maintenance of COR certification and ensure ongoing compliance with required standards
- Assist in the preparation, coordination and execution of internal and external COR audits
- Track and document progress on audit findings and support implementation of corrective actions
Risk & Quality Support
- Perform and support risk assessments, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and mitigation planning
- Ensure compliance with Alberta OHS regulations, ISO standards, and COR audit requirements
Quality Control
- Support the implementation of ISO-compliant quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001)
- Assist in managing non-conformance reports (NCRs), root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Participate in internal and external quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with teams to ensure alignment with client, regulatory and ISO standards
Communication & Standardization
- Share best practices and lessons learned across the organization
- Support monthly HSE workshop deliverables and ensure consistent application of standards

What we need from you:
- Diploma or certification in Occupational Health & Safety and/or Quality Assurance
- 2–5 years in a quality assurance/control role, preferably in:
Mechanical/electrical repair services
Industrial maintenance or manufacturing
Technical service industries
- Experience working with ISO 9001 systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Strong technical writing skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to work hands-on and lead by example.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Innovative, self-motivated, and team-oriented with strong active listening skills.
