We are currently looking for an Outside Sales Representative, specializing in electric motor sales.
What you will be doing:
As part of Madison Industrial Group’s unified commercial organization, the Outside Technical Sales Representative represents Continental Electric’s specialized capabilities in motor repair, field services, and reliability solutions. They owns the commercial relationship for assigned accounts in Alberta, driving growth for Continental while expanding customer access to MIG’s full range of automation, distribution, and engineering services. This role serves as the local commercial contact for key industrial clients — ensuring account strategy, execution, and reporting are aligned with MIG’s shared commercial framework.
Beyond Continental’s own services, this role will play a key part in promoting and connecting customers with the broader Madison Industrial Group network — helping customers access additional solutions offered by our sister companies in automation, distribution, and other specialty services.
What you will be doing:
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with decision-makers and stakeholders at assigned accounts.
- Sales & Growth: Identify and secure opportunities to expand Continental’s services (repairs, field services, predictive maintenance, motor sales) and cross-sell complementary offerings from other Madison Industrial Group business units.
- Cross-Company Collaboration: Partner with MIG Sales Leadership, fellow SAMs, and KAMs to coordinate account coverage and avoid duplication.
- Account Planning: Develop detailed account plans with clear objectives, growth targets, and cross-selling strategies. Participate in joint planning sessions and rolling pipeline reviews as part of MIG’s integrated governance cadence.
- Promotion & Advocacy: Actively promote the full range of Madison Industrial Group products and services during customer interactions and industry events.
- Opportunity Management: Track and follow up on open quotes and proposals to maximize conversion rates.
- Project Coordination: Partner with operations, technical services, and leadership to ensure seamless execution and exceptional service delivery.
- Industry Engagement: Lead site visits, customer meetings, and industry events to maintain visibility, deepen relationships, and gather market intelligence.

What we need from you:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience in B2B sales or key account management with proven success in revenue growth.
- Strong background in oil & gas or industrial services sector.
- Technical knowledge of electric motors and motor repair required knowledge of automation an asset.
- Willingness to travel within Alberta; valid driver’s license required.
- Proficiency in consultative and value-based sales strategies.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong business acumen and problem-solving ability.
- Organized with effective time and pipeline management skills.
- Proficient in CRM tools and MS Office applications.
- Collaborative approach with cross-functional technical teams.
